About

COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Our Community Partners have held food drives, organized packing parties, donated their time, energy, and $$. The donations and grants we've received have allowed us to grow from 30 students in 2014 to hundreds in 2024.

LOCAL IMPACT

Our program has a positive impact on students attending elementary schools in our local communities.  Blessings in a Backpack (BIAB), Rancho Cordova, provides weekend food for kids that face food insecurity issues during the approx. 65 hours they are not in school.

Can you imagine being a child on Friday afternoon and wondering if you were going to have enough food until you got back to school Monday morning? Of course, it would have a HUGE influence on that child's mood and attitude. This is where BIAB steps and provides food for Saturday/Sunday for the students.

  • It's a fact that children learn best when their needs are met
  • Food is an essential building block and is truly a blessing to a hungry child
  • Better test scores
  • Improved reading skills
  • Positive behavior
  • Improved health

  • Increased attendance
